The Automotive Hall of Fame is a great place to go. Here is some history about it. In 1939, there was a World's Fair in New York. The purpose of this was that anybody who came to the fair could see General Motors', Ford’s, and Chrysler’s new automobiles.

There was an organization called the “Automobile Old Timers” and they wanted to have a whole building just for all of the first automobiles. In 1960 the organization moved from New York to Washington, D.C. Eleven years later, in 1971, the “Automobile Old Timers” moved to the Northwood Institute, now called Northwood University. In 1975, on the Northwood Institute's grounds, the first permanent Automotive Hall of Fame building was built. In 1997, more automotive experts moved the building to Dearborn, because it was closer to Detroit, the automotive capital of the world. Fundraising was done so the new building could be created. It would be 25,000 square feet!
